Franklin was born in Blakely, Georgia. His father was a talented drummer who introduced him to the world of rhythm and melody. At age 8, he moved to Nashville where he starred as Father Christmas in his school's play. It was during this time that he first fell in love with Country Music. As he traveled with his family around the south and southeastern United States, Franklin was exposed to a variety of people and musical styles, further fueling his artistic fire. His passion for the arts continued to grow as he entered his teenage years, becoming involved in songwriting, creative writing, little theatre, and school choir.
Despite pursuing other interests and obligations to make a living, Franklin never gave up on his dream of making music. It was during these years he began studying the craft of songwriting, as well as co-writing with several number one hit songwriters along the way. Franklin credits these writers with convincing him to follow through on his dream of making Country Music his career.
Today, while continuing to study the craft of songwriting, Franklin is quietly building a name for himself as a valued co-writer. Drawing inspiration from his travels and life experiences, he contributes a piece of himself to each song he writes, infusing it with the style and vibe of the artist he's writing for. And, as the Creative Director of Franklin Songworks™, he is responsible for identifying great songs and ideas for today's major Country Music artists, and coordinating communication between those artists and our songwriter network.
